Smart phones are catching on fast in Korea, as is the case in many other countries. They are no longer just for early adopters. Their popularity has a lot to do with people's desires for all-in-one gadgets. These phones have tons of functions. They can be used as a PDA, an MP3 and video player, and of course a phone. Smart phones can also connect easily to the Internet, practically making them mobile computers. Smart phones usually have touch-screen capabilities, which make them very convenient to use. The competition in the smart phone market is growing fiercer every day. Apple's iPhone made its debut in the Korean market with much fanfare late last year. Domestic companies such as LG and Samsung are doing their best to outsell the iPhone.

# My opinion
I love to use my smart phone, the iPhone which is an all-in-one gadget that includes an MP3 and video player,an e-mail checker,a twitter,a web browser,an organizer,a camera, maps and so on. As soon as the iPhone was released in Korea in December 2009, I was so excited to reserve it as soon as possible because I didn't want to carry around so many devices. The iPhone can do everything I want. I think a smart phone, especially the iPhone, is used like a small laptop that includes the functions of a phone, not like a phone that includes the functions of a PDA. Just as the iPhone was released in Korea, various smart phones start to appear on the Korean market. With a wide variety of smart phones, we have a lot of choices to pick from. I have to subscribe to a flat rate payment system to connect to the internet through the iPhone and it sure is expensive. My phone bill was actually around 25,000 won a month before switching to the iPhone. On the contrary, now that I use the iPhone, I have to pay around 50,000 won including the data charge. Every month, I get 500MB of free internet data which is too huge to use up. Because of the many functions, high date limits and its stylish design, I am satisfied with my iPhone.
